Australian Food Experiences in sydney
Meet the Makers Sydney Native Food & Distillery Tour
unique, local, food-Led Experiences in Sydney.
Most travellers leave Australia saying, “I came all the way to Australia but never got to try real Australian food.” Native Australian food can be hard to find and even harder to experience properly. We change that.
The Australian Food Guy is a Sydney‑based tourism business creating premium, host‑led food journeys that connect travellers with local producers, culture, and native Australian flavours. Our tours go beyond restaurants, offering behind‑the‑scenes access to markets, distilleries, and makers, paired with relaxed, story‑driven hosting in some of Sydney’s most iconic locations, from the Sydney Fish Market to Bondi Beach.

What Our Traveler Say About Our Tour Services
An amazing experience that we would do over and over again. We booked a private tour for 3 adults and one teen, which, you could imagine could be a challenge to find an schedule that meets everyone's wants and interests, and the Food Guy sure did it! We began at the fish market with a lite snack and flat whites, then off to the beach for some time in the sand and water and a sea side picnic, from there a little shopping at the Rocks market and a perfect recomendation for a opal shop, ending with Haighs chocolate. A perfect day custom made for us. THANK YOU!
Read moreDavid was great! He was super passionate about local/authentic Australian food and has paired with people and companies that are also authentic and passionate about their local specialities (coffee and rum). You can tell he has put a lot of thought into his tour and the information he is passing along, and especially the food being specific to Australia! Great tour, great company, great time! Thank you, David!!!!
Read moreDavid was so nice and knowledgeable about the history and development of Sydney’s food and fish market! He was also very accommodating to my limited mobility and tailored the experience to be more accessible to me. I would 100% recommend!
Read moreThis was hands down one of the most unique and incredible tour experiences I've ever had in Sydney! The Australian Food Guy “Dave” truly delivers on his promise to give visitors a taste of authentic, native Aussie food. The guided foraging tour was a fascinating introduction to ingredients I never knew existed, and our expert local guide was a wealth of knowledge, sharing captivating stories of Sydney's history and design, all with the iconic Opera House in the background. The tasting experience was a definite highlight. We sampled native plants, delicious dips, and honeys, all of which were surprisingly flavorful and unlike anything I'd tried before. The bush tucker hamper lunch, with its kangaroo salami, cheeses, and other treats, was the perfect finale, especially when paired with a chilled sparkling wine. This tour is a must-do for anyone who wants to go beyond the typical tourist experience and truly connect with Australia's natural and culinary heritage. I can't recommend it enough!
